find community

I’m new

If you’re new to St Peter’s, we welcome you and hope you will soon feel at home among us. We would like to get to know you and help you become part of our family. You can complete this short welcome form to help us get to know you better, and to get involved in our activities. Once completed we will be in touch with you.

Congregation

Join our congregation as we gather for Sunday Worship. We are a friendly, welcoming and inclusive community of people of all ages, from different walks of life, living in the Musselburgh area. In our Sunday services our focus is on meeting God and others through the wisdom of the Bible applied to our daily lives and in conversation with our modern world, and through the Breaking of Bread (Holy Communion).

Small Groups

If you are looking for community and would like to explore the Way of Jesus with others, why not join one of our small groups? Our small groups meet fortnightly at different times during the week  and follow the Sunday service teaching or themed study guides. To join a group, please contact us here.

Get involved

The best way to get to know folk in a church community is by getting involved. If you would like to contribute, please contact us here. These are some of the ways in which you can volunteer:

Tech support: helping with the audio visual equipment in church services, from setting up the sound system to running the slides on the projection screen.

Music: if you play an instrument or enjoy singing, why not join our worship music team?

Liturgy: you can also contribute to our services by reading a scripture passage, serving at the Lord’s Table, or offering prayers during the service.

Children & Youth: if you would like to help with the crèche or Sunday school activities for our little ones, why not become a children’s volunteer? We are also looking for youth work volunteers.

Wider community: If you would like to help others in the wider community in Musselburgh, do check the serving our neighbours section and consider volunteering.

Would you like to explore your faith with us?

A few times a year, we run 6 week-long courses that explore the Way of Jesus within St Peter’s inclusive and positive understanding of the Christian faith. If you’re new to our church family we would especially encourage you to join one of these courses. Our next course, The Jesus Manifesto, exploring the deeper message of the Beatitudes for today, will be in February 2025.
